Jongho rp (lushifah)
Jonghyun groaned in annoyance as the shrill sound of his alarm clock was continually trying to shake him out off his sleep. The young male finally managed to reach out towards the beeping object and turned it off harshly. He turned around, lying on his back now, opening his eyes, which were still sticky and uncooparative with sleep.

The faint early morning sunshine was creeping into the room through the window, and Jonghyun squinted at the light, his eyes not used to it yet. He had never been a morning person, but through the years he had learnt to get used to getting up at ungodly hours.

Reluctantly, Jonghuyn sat up and planted his feet on the scratchy grey carpet, wincing slightly at the unpleasant sensation. He walked over to his wardrobe and pulled out some clothes he wanted to wear today. He decided on a simple black t-shirt with a random English phrase printed at the front of it, and a pair of dark blue skinny jeans.

Then he made his way to the bathroom, and took a quick shower. Afterwards, brushing his dark brown hair and styling it slightly into an organized mess. With a sigh and a last look into the mirror, he decided that he was ready.

Now it was time to wake his little sister, Sodam. She was the reason why he needed to wake much earlier than other kids his age – he had to wake up his sister, get her ready for the day, make breakfast for her and then walk the little girl to her school.

People would probably ask, why couldn’t his parents do all this for him? However, Jonghyun’s parents couldn’t even really take care of themselves. Apparently drinking and taking drugs was more important to them than taking care of their children. So, not only did Jonghyun have the responsibility to take care of Sodam, but he also had to earn most of the money, so that their four-person family had something to eat and a roof over their heads. It wasn’t easy, but Jong tried to pull through as best as he could.

Jonghyun walked into the relatively small room his sister Sodam was sleeping in. He chuckled softly as he saw the child lying all spread out on her bed, the blankets thrown to the floor and the pillow not even under her head anymore. Well, Sodam was quite the messy sleeper. He leant over her and gently shook her shoulder.

“Princess Sodam, it’s time to wake up,” he called, trying to rouse her from her pleasant sleep.

She only puffed out her cheeks, shaking her head and turned around so that her back was now facing him.

“Oh, I see... I think this is calling for different way of waking you up... Maybe the tickle monster will be of some help here,” he smiled, letting out a mock evil laugh and lowering his wiggling fingers towards her small body.

However, before he could touch her, the little girl was already up, sitting on her bed, still looking quite dazed from sleep, with her hair in a mess and her face slightly blotchy.

“I’m up, I’m up, Jongie-oppa! No, tickle monster, pleeeease,” she whined cutely.

“Okay, but now you have to get up and start getting ready for school, alright? Oppa will be in the kitchen making breakfast,” he said, ruffling her long black hair, and making his way out off the room.

Moving to a new town, enrolling in a new school and more or less restarting life wasn't how it was portrayed in the movies, right? Minho hoped not. He didn't want to be under the stress of making friends all over again. It seemed his parents were never truly satisfied with their dwelling; Minho must have enrolled in three different schools in this mere year. He never got the chance to settle down and just live.

But his parents claimed that this particular house they'd chosen most recently was definitely 'the one', although Minho highly doubted that himself. He was used to this, though, and the true annoyance and frustration continued to stay hidden, bottled up inside of him. Had he voiced his anger, his parents would be disappointed, and he didn't want that. Sometimes he wished he was his brother, as said man had already moved out, starting his own life and sticking to one thing. How Minho wished he could only follow such an example.

But he couldn't, he was stuck here with his snooty (although admittedly loving) folks, starting over in a new house that was much too spacious for just the three of them, in Minho's personal opinion. Of course, his parents had expensive taste, and he wasn't one to disrespect that.

He had gotten used to living in his new home and attending his new school. He'd joined the soccer team and made a handful of friends in a relatively easy amount of days; perhaps living in such a charmingly friendly neighborhood wasn't a bad idea. Minho could get used to this.

Then again, it was almost too friendly. Minho sighed as he woke up, begrudgingly stepping into his shower. His shower was basically a time for thought, and as he scrubbed shampoo into his wet hair, he pondered the meaning of this town's disturbingly content atmosphere. Wasn't there more to it?

Minho hoped somewhere in the back of his head that there was a secret, if you will, hidden somewhere amongst this boringly perfect environment. There had to be criminals, bars, strip clubs—hell, maybe there was even underground mob bosses working for the top groups of Korean mafia. Oh, how Minho hoped.

But this was just a regular town, with regular people, he mused as he pulled a pair of uniform slacks onto his lengthy legs. This was just a regular town, but Minho didn't give in with a challenge like this presented. He'd find a way to entertain himself, and fast... There had to be something fun to do around here, anyway.

They didn’t have that much time left anymore to get ready, so Jonghyun decided on preparing a simple bowl of cereals and milk for his sister and two toasts with strawberry jam for himself. He also poured some orange juice for Sodam, and made himself a cup of coffee to get more awake. He was still in a slight daze from not having slept enough last night.

The young male sat down at the kitchen table and waited for his sister to finally arrive. He took a bite from his toast, not really feeling that hungry, just like every other morning. Soon Sodam rushed into the kitchen, dressed in her school uniform, which Jong noticed looked rather worn out already. He would need to buy her a new one, she couldn’t walk around like this. He wanted what’s best for his sister, and tried all he could to at least give her a small portion of the childhood she deserved.

The girl basically devoured her cereals and Jonghyun chuckled at her childishness, glad that his sister was still able to act so innocently, just like her age dictated. At least she could enjoy herself, and that’s all he wanted.

After they finished eating they put away the dishes into the kitchen sink, Jong would wash them once he got back from school later. They put on their shoes and made their way towards Sodam’s school.

The petite girl was going to a primiary school not too far away from where they lived, so they didn’t have to walk for too long. Sodam obediently held his hand during the whole trip – the gesture always making him smile like a fool.

Arriving at the school building, Jonghyun crouched down so that he was his sister’s height. He enveloped her in a tight hug, which she returned with equal fervour.

"Take care of yourself, little princess,” he said, before planting a soft kiss on her chubby cheek.

She nodded her head, smiling brightly and running off into her school.

With a sigh, he stood straight again, now taking the way to his own school.

Gripping the shoulder straps of his backbag tightly with his hands, he held his head fixed towards the ground as he came closer. Jonghyun really didn’t like his school, he could already feel the other students giving him nasty glances, burning the back of his neck. He shuddered, passing the school yard as quickly as possible, and walking into the building and to his locker.

Minho bid farewell to his annoyingly happy parents, starting his walk to school with considerably low spirits. Nonetheless, he was determined; he wasn't going to go and sulk for the rest of the day just because things never seemed to resolve in his personal favor. He'd have a good day at school regardless of his somewhat bummed mood.

His walk to school wasn't prolonged at all; in fact, he lived just a few blocks away. Sometimes Minho wished that he lived a little further so his jog to school could burn a couple more calories. It was a considerably easy, effortless distance, though, so Minho never broke a sweat.

He hummed as he stepped onto school grounds, heading indoors and giving the occasional smile or nod to friends and acquaintances. An infuriating song courtesy of today's pop had wedged itself into Minho's head, occupying most of his thoughts, so that was all he could sing to himself as he ventured deeper into school, approaching his locker and unlocking it in perhaps record time.

He glanced around, finding the hallway void of most students, surprisingly enough. However, there was another boy, one shorter than him, though undeniably masculine, standing to his left. He'd never seen him before. Although, Minho had only been attending for about a week and a half... He figured he wouldn't be familiar with the entire student body in such a small amount of time.

Deciding to be friendly, Minho shifted his weight as he fished a couple of textbooks from his locker, glancing over at the other student and mustering a friendly smile. "Hi," he greeted, cursing his creepily deep voice, wincing a little after hearing how odd his voice had sounded, lingering awkwardly in the air. Oh god, he hoped he didn't scare this guy away... He just wanted to meet new people and make friends. Hopefully his approach wasn't too weird.

Jonghyun was still feeling tired from his usual lack of sleep - too many thoughts were running through his head, and he wished he could just shut his brain off once he got into his bed at night, but he couldn't. Oftentimes he managed to fall asleep in the early morning hours, exhaustion finally knocking him out.

He was already used to it, but sometimes he still felt his eyes fluttering closed, even when he was standing up. Like right now, when he was trying to gather the things he would need for his first class from his locker. Absentmindedly, he leant his head against the door of the locker, closing his eyes, and letting out a long tired sigh.

Suddenly, he was startled out of his sleepy state by a deep voice supposedly calling out a greeting towards him. Jonghyun couldn't quite believe it - was he hallucinating? Noone ever talked to him at school, he somehow was labelled into the school's loner and resident freak.

His head snapped up and he turned it to side, glancing towards where the voice had sounded from. And there stood a tall, dark-haired, admittedly handsome boy. Was this guy really talking to Kim Jonghyun? He couldn't believe it... Jong looked behind himself to see if another person was standing there, but no, this guy was definitely talking to him.

Jonghyun swallowed heavily as he gazed up at the other boy, when he saw him smile kindly, Jong tried to do the same, however he was feeling slightly nervous, so his lips quivered a little.

"H-Hey... C-Can I help you in any way?" Jonghyun asked, tilting his head to the side, curiously.

[ah so you are back already today? how was your trip? did you have fun as well? ^.^]

They made their way out off the school building with slow, leisure steps. Jonghyun was enjoying the time he could spend with the other boy, finally he could talk with someone his own age. It was such a long time ago since he last had any friends. Most of it was mainly his own fault as he kept pushing away the people that wanted to get closer to him. However, he felt like it would be somehow different with Minho. He didn't want to push him away, he had the strange sensation that he needed to hold onto the other boy. Maybe he would be able to help him escape from the black hole he had maneuvered himself into.

Jonghyun listened intently to what Minho was saying. Taking in every single word of his. He frowned slightly at the gloomy vibe in Minho's voice. He looked up, noticing the sudden sad expression on the younger boy's face. Jong couldn't help but to feel curious as to what the boy meant, but he realised that it was probably too early for them to exchange such private, personal issues. He himself had some things about his life that he would rather keep a secret from Minho for as long as possible.

The older smiled brightly thinking about his younger sister. She was the best thing that had ever happened to him. HIs little ray of sunshine - he didn't know what he would do without her.

Jonghyun wasn't quite sure, but did Minho actually imply that he thought that Jong was cute? The blonde male felt his breath hitch in his throat - he didn't know where this sudden reaction was coming from, but he couldn't shake it off. However, he tried to convince himself that he had just misunderstood Minho's words. Yes, that must be it. He couldn't possible think like that about Jonghyun. There was no way that he did.

He laughed nervously.

"Well, you know how it is - for me she is the cutest being on this world. She is really pretty, too. And has a heart made out of gold. A truly sweet girl. I'm sure that you will get along really well with her," He said, gazing sideways at Minho and giving him a reassuring smile.

"She goes to a primary school near our house. It's not the best, but it's the only one that we can afford," he nearly let out a sarcastic laugh at the 'we' in his sentence.

There was no 'we', all the money for school and any other expanses was basically flowing from his wallet. His mother could care less, and well, his father was barely home at all.

[i went to my grandma's and we did a whole lot of shopping! had lots of fun, yes ^o^]

Minho tried to shake off the tremor he detected in Jonghyun's laugh; did he notice? Or was he just nervous to be talking to Minho? Minho hoped Jonghyun felt comfortable around him, at least relatively, because he certainly didn't want to scare him away.

He watched as the elder boy's expression lit up, becoming the pure definition of fond as he talked about his sister. He must truly care for her, Minho thought with affection. It was always good to see people getting along with young kids, much less, siblings. Minho knew from his own experience that some siblings just weren't meant to get along. He inwardly rolled his eyes at the thought of his own brother.

His eyes remained trained on Jonghyun as he talked about her school, and he could almost find that he seemed a little bitter about the fact of not having a better school for his sister to attend. Really, he must care for his Songdam a phenomenal amount...Minho admired that.

Now that the two of them were outside, which Minho had just bothered to notice, actually, he allowed for his eyes to roam over the other boy's unusual hair. Out in the sun, it was nearly blinding. It was so different and more colorful than his own boring, naturally raven locks.

"I like your hair," he blurted as they rounded a corner on the sidewalk, his eyes a little rounder than usual. Smooth one, Choi.

[really? i was at my grandma’s place as well XD hehe vacation at grandma’s place are the best XD lol im glad that you had a nice time! ^.^]

Jonghyun blinked when Minho’s sudden comment registered in his brain. He self-consciously ran his hand through his blonde hair, ruffling it up a bit. Minho liked his hair? He didn’t even know why he had decided to dye his hair this way, maybe he just wanted to show that he was different, maybe it was an urge to get other people’s attention.

However, noone had ever told him before that they liked his hairstyle. Well expect for his sister, but that didn’t really count. It was a bit difficult for him to get used to the new bright hair colour, but now he couldn’t really imagine himself in any other way. It somehow fit him.

He bit onto the inside of his cheek, trying to keep back the blush that was threatening to enter his cheeks. However, as he felt the heat enter his face, he knew that it was probably in vain. He just hoped it wasn’t really noticable.

“Uhm... thanks,” he said, smiling shyly to himself,” I dyed it a month ago, I just felt like some sort of change would be the right idea.”

Jonghyun gazed up at the other boy, taking in his shiny black hair. He looked nice with it as well. Jong couldn’t really imagine him having any other colour.

Soon Songdam’s primary school came into sight, and Jonghyun smiled brightly as he saw his sister already sitting on the low stone wall around it.

“There she is! Come on, Minho,” he said, taking hold of the other boy’s wrist (it was kind of becoming a habit) and lead him towards the little girl at a faster pace.

The girl was probably alerted by their footsteps, as she looked up from her lap when they were approaching.

“Oppa,” she exclaimed, standing up, and stretching out her arms for a hug.

Jonghyun let go of Minho’s wrist (rather reluctantly) in order to envelop his sister in an embrace.
Soon they loosened out off the hug and Jonghyun stood straight again. Jonghyun realised that the girl was looking intently at something over his shoulder, her eyes unblinking as she took in the sight of the unknown male.

“Ah, that’s Minho-ssi. He... uhm... He will be going to grab some ice cream with us today,” he explained, hoping that Songdam would be alright with it.

Songdam narrowed her eyes, not letting her gaze leave Minho.

“Oppa~ But I thought it would only be the two of us,” she whined, pouting softly.

“Come on, Songdam, don’t be rude! Minho-ssi is a great guy, I’m sure you will get along well,” he said, scratching the back of of his neck, not wanting to make Minho feel uncomfortable. He didn’t know where Songdam’s sudden attitiude was coming from.

“Okay, I will give him a chance, but only because he is oppa’s friend,” she concluded, crossing her arms in front of her chest.

[omg what a coincidence XD thank you! I'm glad you had fun as well :3]

Minho had honestly been expecting the confused response, "Um, okay?" or at least something akin to it. What he didn't expect was for Jonghyun to get flattered, and maybe even a tad awkward afterward. That was just what happened, though. Minho even thought he saw the elder's boy's cheeks go a little red from the compliment. He watched him dazedly, feeling a sense of accomplishment settle in the pit of his stomach, making a mental note to compliment the other male more often. If it got such satisfying reactions, while Minho was being completely truthful, he may add, he'd continue with it.

He let himself be lead, wistful, his mind in another dimension, so it seemed. He was still catching up with the fact that Jonghyun had gotten a tad embarrassed before he blinked, vision un-fogging and mind opening up a little more, stepping back into reality. When he saw a cute little girl in front of him, staring at him quite intensely, almost a glare, he shrunk back a little, sheepish. He knew he was wrong to impose like this.

She certainly was cute, though. Minho could definitely see some Jonghyun in those big brown eyes of hers. It was reassuring, to say the least, even if she clearly wasn't too fond of the younger male's presence. He'd just have to try hard to win her affection.

"You must be Songdam, right?" Minho tried, putting on a soft smile (one that came naturally when he interacted with children). "My, what a cute little girl you are. Don't worry, I won't bother you and...uhm, 'oppa' today. I'm just tagging along," he promised, his smile going a little awkward as he looked down at the small girl.

Jonghyun usually found it difficult to fall asleep. Sometimes he just felt too tired, or too many thoughts were going through his mind to find some rest. However, somehow Minho's presence made a pleasant calm go through his body, causing his eyes to fall shut on its own accord, and soon a sweet slumber was overtaking his mind. It surely wasn't the most comfortable position to fall asleep in, but Jong still managed to enjoy a restful, dreamless sleep. A gentle smile stretching his full lips.

He groaned quietly as he felt something or someone shaking him. Moving his head in denial, he snuggled closer to his source of warmth. He didn't want to leave this moment behind, he hadn't felt this at ease in a long time.

"Oppa! Wake up~ I'm tired and I still need to do my homework," The whiny, demanding voice of his sister caused his eyes to snap open.

Suddenly Jonghyun realised what the warmth meant that he had been surrounded by and his eyes widened at the realization, as he sat up abruptly.

"I'm up, I'm up," he exclaimed, as he felt a blush entering his cheeks again. God, Minho made him blush way to often.

He gazed up at the other boy, giving him a shy, apologetic smile.

"I'm sorry for falling asleep on you like this... It must have been uncomfortable," he said, chuckling softly," I was just so tired, I didn't even realise when I fell asleep."
amelushifah on August 20th, 2013 08:47 pm (UTC)
Minho shifted a little uncomfortably when Jonghyun only burrowed closer to him rather than properly waking up. His face scorched with embarrassment; somehow he felt like he and Jonghyun all-but cuddling on a bench with the older boy's little sister watching was sort of weirdly inappropriate. Once Jonghyun came to, Minho detected that he was just as embarrassed. He returned the bashful smile, shaking his head. "It's alright... I don't mind. Besides, having you lean on me like that kept me warm," he chuckled, averting Jonghyun's big, warm eyes in favor if staring at a particular blade of grass.

Clearing his throat, Minho stood hurriedly. "Well. It's pretty late. Can I walk you guys home?" he asked with a friendly smile, hoping he would come off as just being nice and not flirtatious. He figured it was safe since Songdam was present, but... Like it or not, Minho intended to flirt with Jonghyun. It just came naturally, anyway. When Minho was attracted to someone, he'd become clingy with them and make innuendoes. Somehow, though, he felt like it wouldn't be as easy with this boy... He was so precious, Minho almost didn't want to tease him. He just wanted to protect him, and take care of him. He hoped he wasn't getting his hopes too high... For all he knew, Jonghyun could be in a relationship, or find men disgusting. Even so, he'd keep at it. Jonghyun was unlike anyone he'd ever met before... Maybe with a little persuasion, the two of them could get to know each other better. That was all that Minho really wanted.
miss_emiliamiss_emilia on August 21st, 2013 07:01 pm (UTC)
Jonghyun's smile brightened at Minho's words - he was truly grateful for the boy somehow always knowing what to say to help the older get over his embarrassment. He didn't know what to say in reply, so he just nodded his head, blinking his eyes - still feeling all drowsy, because of having just woken up from a pleasant sleep.

Rubbing his itchy eyes absentmindedly, he nodded his head again and stood up as well.

"Sure, I guess... Even though, y-you d-don't really have to," he said, not wanting to burden Minho with having to walk them home, for all he knew, the younger boy could live at a completely different part of the city.

However, Jonghyun didn't want to say goodbye to the boy yet. Their time together didn't really go as perfectly as he would have liked it to, what with Songdam having to be there with them. Still, Jong hoped that Minho had enjoyed it either way. The older boy felt so comfortable in the other's presence - usually he was more distrustful towards new acquaintances. He hadn't made the best experiences in the past.

"Oppas~! Let's go home," he heard his sister whine, and he chuckled softly as he saw her annoyed, tired expression.

"Well, the princess demands us to go, so we have no other choice," he smiled up at Minho, taking hold of the taller's wrist again, it already was becoming a habit, really.

He didn't want to go back home. Biting his lower lip, he sighed deeply at the thought of what could await him once he got back. His mother didn't like him coming home late. And now that he thought about his home, he suddenly didn't want Minho to walk with them anymore. They lived in one of the most rundown, poor areas of Seoul. What would the boy think of him once he saw where he lived?

Jonghyun nodded his head, smiling up at the other boy. It would be cute if Songdam slept with them and probably also less awkward. However, he also couldn't shake that urge of wanting to keep Minho to himself, he didn't want to share the warmth that was emanating from his body, not even with his adorable little sister. Damn, now he was getting borderline psychopathic... How could he feel this way about a guy he barely even knew?

He could feel Minho's eyes on him, and somehow it was making him nervous. Was he doing something wrong? Maybe he shouldn't have sat down on his bed. However, when he looked up, the younger didn't seem to be angry at all, he seemed peaceful.

"Ah, okay! That's probably a good idea... We should watch what she is doing! She is such a curious girl," Jonghyun chuckled, he hoped Songdam hadn't broken anything, they wouldn't be able to repay it.

Jonghyun felt moved at hearing the other boy's words. It made him feel much better. How was this boy so nice to him? It had been a long time since anyone apart from his sister had acted like he was a normal human being. Ever since some students had found out where he sometimes worked during the night and spread it through the school, most of the students laughed at him and bullied him or just treated him like air, or dirt - definitely not worth their attention.

"Thank you," he mumbled as he watched Minho walk out off the room. Jonghyun frowned, maybe he shouldn't befriend Minho? God knows what the other students would do of they found out that they were friends. He didn't want the kind boy to be bullied because of him.

Letting out a heavy, burdened sigh, he threw himself back, and laid down on the fluffy, comfortable bed. He decided that he won't think about those negative things tonight. No, tonight was all about getting to know Minho and enjoying himself. He deserved that, too, right? Jonghyun closed his eyes for a while, stretching out his arms and legs on the huge bed.

However, as he heard footsteps coming closer to the door, he sat up abruptly, swinging his legs absentmindedly. Soon Songdam came sprinting in, jumping on the bed with enthusiasm.

Before he could scold her, his eyes saw the bag of chips in Minho's hands and he was like transfixed by the sight.

"Wah! Chips, I hadn't had those in a while," he announced, feeling rather embarrassed at the admission.

He saw Songdam reaching for the bag, and he did the same, taking some of the chips, and particularly stuffung them into his mouth and munching on them happily.

Then he laid down on the bed, stretching his arms above his head, he enjoyed the calm atmosphere - well, as calm as it could get, with Songdam still jumping around.

"Is that your brother?" Jonghyun suddenly asked, while looking at a picture on one of Minho's shelves.
amelushifah on August 29th, 2013 08:42 pm (UTC)
Jonghyun's announcement about not having chips for a while confirmed Minho's suspicions. It just made him feel bad. He wanted to help Jonghyun, but he also didn't want the older boy to feel like he was being pitied... It was a tough matter to approach correctly.

But then his poor mood vanished entirely when the two Kims dug into the bag of chips. It was just too endearing.

Minho's gaze followed Jonghyun's to the picture of his brother, his expression going soft. "Yeah, that's Minseok-hyung," he clarified, nodding once. "He's a really great guy. I love him a lot, but he's pretty much living my dream." Minho chuckled as he shook his head. "He makes me jealous, and we're both very competitive with one another, but he's one of my best friends." He meant those words genuinely. He was glad that he and Jonghyun were on good terms with their respective siblings.

Minho glanced at the older boy, liking how much more comfortable he seemed now. Sure, he wasn't completely at ease, but the younger decided he'd just coax Jonghyun into it. He'd make him feel at home.

Minho mirrored Jonghyun's position, laying beside his friend. He rotated onto his side so he could look at Jonghyun easier, and only then did he realize it was sort of an awkward position. It seemed... mildly romantic to Minho, but moving now would just make things worse. He brushed it off.

"Jonghyun-hyung, where do you work?" he asked curiously, wanting to know more about the elder boy, smiling when Songdam settled down a bit, munching quietly at the Cheetos.
miss_emiliamiss_emilia on August 31st, 2013 12:36 pm (UTC)
The way Minho talked about his older brother showed that he cared a lot for the other boy. His eyes going warm as he gazed at the photograph, which Jonghyun had asked about curiously. He could see the love in his expression and it caused a smile to be created on the older boy's lips. Somehow, it caused Jonghyun to like the other even more. His apparant, honest affection for his family, it made him more approachable.

Jonghyun nodded his head, looking back at the picture, where they two very similiar looking boys were grinning at the camera, arms around each other's shoulders.

"I'm sure you'll get to live your dream as well, Minho," he smiled at the boy, really believing in his words.

The sudden closeness of the other boy made Jonghyun feel slightly awkward on the inside, however he tried to not let it show on his face or in his actions. He just stayed laying the way he had been before, occasionaly glancing at Minho, biting the inside's of his cheek to keep himself from blushing.

Jong should have expected that this question will come one time or another. Well, it wasn't surprising at all. He swallowed, looking up at the white ceiling, his arms crossed under his head.

"I... uhm, have three jobs, to be honest. One is at a local 24/7 store, then I also work at a cafe sometimes... And uhm... at a club as well," he admitted, hoping that the boy wouldn't ask what he was doing at that particlar club. He wasn't really good at lying, but he would've to somehow manage it, because there is no way in hell he would say what his place there was.

Jonghyun smiled softly, his eyes filled with affection as he gazed at the other boy, who seemed to be quite nervous and hesitant. He was so polite, not wanting to make the older feel uncomfortable with whatever he would ask. It had been a long time since Jonghyun met such a nice person, that was looking out for his wellbeing. There didn't seem to be an ounce of selfishness in Minho's heart - he really admired that.

However, hearing Minho's question, Jonghyun's eyes widened slightly. He swallowed heavily, not knowing how to answer. He sat up, his legs crossed, gazing down at his lap. Nervously, he started to play with the material of his pants, biting his lower lip in thought.

Should he tell Minho the truth? He was afraid that if the boy knew how many issues he was carrying with himself, he wouldn't want to be his friend anymore. Afterall who would want to be close to someone, who was trouble in a person? But then again, this was Minho, and he wouldn't just throw him away, because Jonghyun's life was a bit more difficult than that of an average person, right?

On the other hand, Jonghyun felt the sudden urge to confide in someone. He wanted to talk about the burdensome life he had at home and in general. He just needed to get it off his chest. And Minho seemed like a good listener. Sighing deeply, he gazed up. A weak smile was stretched across his face, before his eyes focused on his lap again.

"I guess you already... uhm... noticed that my family doesn't have that much money to spare... It used to be a bit better w-when my father still lived with us... B-but then he moved away... Or more like ran away. I still don't know what happened, why he suddenly disappeared. My mother never told me," he took a deep breath, his heart beating quickly against his chest, his gaze still on his crossed legs.

"After my father left, my mom had a breakdown... My dad wasn't the best dad, but still he brought in money, even if he drank... And when he was gone, mom started to drown her sorrows in alcohol... I feel ashamed of it... But nowadays she's barely sober... Of course she doesn't work, so earning money is my responsibilty," he sighed, running a hand through his hair, feeling suddenly dirty, he had such a screwed up family life.

He wan't sure if he should tell Minho about his mother getting abusive lately. Maybe... maybe it wasn't the right time for that yet.

"I-It's difficult sometimes, but Songdam and me manage," he finally looked up and gave Minho a shaky smile.
amelushifah on September 7th, 2013 10:54 pm (UTC)
Minho chewed his lip in anticipation when Jonghyun responded to his question. His even and tame mask crumbled and fell right to the bed in a matter of seconds, and suddenly, Minho regretted asking. He hoped Jonghyun wouldn't decline his offer and make them sit there in an awkward silence. He was relieved, but also scared as the elder boy began to speak. Minho was attentive, though, and took mental notes on every word that passed through the shorter boy's lips.

Considering Jonghyun didn't make eye contact through his explanation, Minho knew this was a very touchy and maybe even slightly uncomfortable subject. But he didn't want this to be uncomfortable...he wanted Jonghyun to feel like he could vent to him and trust him with the weight of his problems. Minho so badly wanted to share that weight.

His lips parted in silent surprise as Jonghyun told his story. He couldn't believe that his dad had just...left. Of course, there was no use in asking 'why' when Jonghyun didn't even know himself, but...still, Minho wondered. He resumed listening, his eyebrows pulling together with pity, sadness, anger, frustration.... All at once, a number of negative emotions were washing over him, and it was all because Jonghyun had to endure this horrible life. He deserved so much better. The fact that Jonghyun was the one to earn the money of the family was...entirely unfair. Minho could hardly take it when Jonghyun managed a pathetic smile, the light clearly not reaching his eyes. He swore his heart pretty much cracked down the middle.

He just stared at Jonghyun for a long moment, truly speechless. What could he say? Minho was more a man of actions than words, so he just did what he would have done with anyone. He scooted forward on his knees, leaning down a little, his arms wrapping around the shoulders of Jonghyun's smaller frame. He was so warm, and he smelled good...if not a tad bit like alcohol and smoke, but Minho liked it anyway. He pushed Jonghyun's head against his shoulder, tucking him safely in his embrace as he just breathed for a moment. "I'm so sorry," he finally whispered, uncertain of how to elaborate on it. He figured that his action spoke louder than words, anyway.
miss_emiliamiss_emilia on September 8th, 2013 05:09 pm (UTC)
The silence that followed after Jonghyun had stopped talking made him feel a bit uncomfortable. He looked back down onto his lap, feeling his heart aching, because he knew that any moment now Minho would ask him to leave his house. Who would want to be burdened with his issues after all? They barely knew each other - he had probably opened up too quickly. He should have lied, made up some nice story, that didn't make him a charity case.

Jonghyun sighed, he wanted to laugh at his naivity. He really wasn't the best at deciphering people and their personalities.

However, before he could stand up and walk out of the room, he was suddenly enveloped by a pleasant, unexpected warmth. He gasped at the contact, his eyes widening in surprise as Minho's arms encircled his body. His head was carefully pushed against the younger boy's shoulder - the caring gesture causing Jonghyun to blush and a weird prickling sensation to erupt in his stomach. He hesitantly wrapped his arms around the other's waist, burying his face into his shoulder. A soothing scent entered his nose, making him close his eyes in comfort, and let a sigh escape his lips.

Jonghyun smiled softly as he heard Minho's heartfelt apology. He couldn't believe that the boy was reacting in such a way, his actions making him feel cared for and secure.

"You don't need to apologize, Minho... It's not your fault at all," he murmured, resting his head comfortably against the younger's shoulder, the gentle smile still on his lips," You don't need to worry about me, you know. I manage... But sometimes I wish I had a normal family," he sighed, wishing that he could forever stay in Minho's embrace.
amelushifah on September 8th, 2013 05:44 pm (UTC)
When Jonghyun spoke, still managing to remain positive despite the situation, Minho only squeezed him tighter. He hated seeing people who had to live lives like this, with a family who didn't care. That put all of the weight on Jonghyun's shoulders, and frankly, it was really fucking unfair.

"Hyung, I know that we've only known each other a day...and I'm not much," Minho chuckled shakily, making no move to pull away as he rubbed soothing circles onto the smaller boy's lower back, "but I'd like to be sort of a family to you. I mean, technically I'll just be a friend, but I can cook you meals when you need it, or give you a place to stay..." He pulled back slowly, arms still draped loosely around Jonghyun's shoulders. "And don't decline just because you think you're being rude," he murmured sternly as he narrowed his eyes, pointing a finger at the other boy a bit teasingly.

He finally dropped his hands to his lap, but his gaze on Jonghyun's face remained steady, his features solemn. "I want to be here for you, hyung. Don't feel like it's impolite to do things with me. I really wanna help you out. My parents are never here, and things get lonely, so...it's like killing two birds with one stone," he shrugged, smiling weakly. "I just want you to know that you're absolutely welcome here at anytime. Even if you start knocking on my door at three in the morning, I'd still happily let you in." He cracked a more genuine smile, playfully tipping the elder boy's chin up with his index finger. "Okay?"

Due to the drowsiness still being in his body, it took him a while to realise that Minho had actually opened his eyes and was now gazing deeply into his own brown orbs. Jonghyun had to stop himself from jerking back, only now noticing how close their faces actually were to each other. However he stayed in the same position he was in, his smile turning brighter than before.

Waking up this way seemed oddly like a dream to him. With Minho's arm put securely around him and Songdam and seeing the boy's smile up close, uttering a goodmorning. If Jonghyun wasn't mistaken, there was a light blush forming on the younger's cheeks. He couldn't help but to think it was cute.

He chuckled quietly, absentmindedly stroking his fingers over Minho's arm, which was resting across Songdam's body and ended with his hand gently gripping onto Jonghyun's hip. Minho's skin was soft and warm and pleasant to his touch.

"Morning, Minho," he replied, his voice still laced with sleep, as he smiled up at the younger," You're cute when you blush," he commented, his sleepy mind, not filtering his words yet.

Suddenly, he sensed Songdam stirring next to him. And soon the girl had turned on her back, causing Jonghyun to retreat his arm and his hand that was still caressing Minho's skin. His sister blinked open her eyes and gazed around.

"Oppas! Good Morning," she greeted, as she stretched her little body.

"I'm hungry," she pouted, looking first at one boy than at the other.

Jonghyun couldn't help but to chuckle, even if he felt disappointed that his somewhat special moment with Minho has been interrupted.
amelushifah on September 14th, 2013 01:47 pm (UTC)
The way Jonghyun stroked Minho's arm with his warm fingertips made the younger boy feel like this was sort of intimate. Not to mention, they were staring into each other's eyes. Minho had learned that Jonghyun could be quite the shy one at times, but right now he seemed so at ease with the situation. His comment caused the younger boy to avert his eyes, his blush strengthening a bit.

Minho let out a small breath of relief when Songdam awoke and instantly began talking. He chuckled, retracting his hand from around Jonghyun in order to ruffle the little girl's hair. "I'll make breakfast," he proposed before sitting up, making a pleased sound as he stretched his arms above his head, earning some satisfying cracks in return.

"You guys wanna come in the kitchen and sit down?" Minho offered, smiling warmly. He hoped his bedhead wasn't too bad...he didn't want Jonghyun to think he looked silly...

He padded into the kitchen, noticing that his parent's car keys were on the counter. They must have gotten home last night and were sleeping in today. Minho shook his head a little fondly, turning on the small TV that was tucked in the corner of the kitchen counter, positioned so that anyone sitting at the dining table could comfortably watch. Halfheartedly, Minho turned it to a news channel, yawning as he poked around for the apron he always used.

After securing the tie on his apron, he headed to the refrigerator, and then the cabinets, gathering up any ingredients he might need. He and his family were stocked with a /lot/ of food, so he figured he probably wouldn't disappoint Jonghyun and Songdam with something they didn't like.

Once he turned around, he saw said siblings at the dining room table. He smiled widely, adjusting his apron self-consciously. "What do you want to eat, Princess?" he asked politely, remembering the nickname that he'd heard Jonghyun call Songdam before.
miss_emiliamiss_emilia on September 14th, 2013 06:05 pm (UTC)
Jonghyun smiles fondly as he hears Songdam's sweet giggle in reaction to her hair being ruffled by the younger boy. He can't shake the feeling of domecticity that is enveloping him. It is pleasant, and he wants to experience it more often.

"Yes! Breakfast," Songdam exclaims as she jumps on the bed, her eyes shining with happiness.

The older boy shakes his head at his sister's hyperness, since when did she behave like this in the morning? For him she would never get up this enthusiastically. She seemed to like Minho, and well, Jonghyun could totally understand why she would. He was a very... likeable person, indeed.

Jong nodded his head at Minho's offer, getting out off bed as well.

"Come on, Songdam, stop jumping around on the bed like that, you will break it," he said, holding out his arms to help his sister off the bed.

The girl pouted, but stopped jumping and instead let Jonghyun lift her up. She was getting heavier, but he still managed to pick her up for a short time. He sat her back on the floor, and she didn't even wait for him as she ran after Minho. That little brat, forgetting all about her brother. However, Jonghyun wasn't mad at all, he felt engulfed by a happiness, smiling brightly. It was nice seeing his sister being so open with someone else that wasn't him. Oftentimes she tended to be quiet and withdrawn with strangers, but that side of her seemed to completely disappear when it came to Minho.

Once they arrived in the kitchen of the Choi's residence, Jonghyun and his sister sat down at the table. Songdam's attention seemed to be stolen away by the TV that was now on, but Jong watched as Minho moved around the kitchen. He smiled fondly, observing as the boy put an apron around his body and started to look for something to prepare breakfast with.

Songdam's head snapped to Minho as she heard him address her with the nickname, Jonghyun could see that her cheeks were slightly flushed and he couldn't help but to quietly chuckle to himself.

"Hmmmm...," she tapped her finger cutely against her lower lip, as if considering something lifealtering," I want cornflakes," she finally exclaimed, with her hand raised in the air.

Jonghyun patted her head adoringly, nodding.

"Yeah, I want the same... Should I help you with something," he asked, not feeling like it was alright to just sit here and let Minho do all the work.

Jonghyun felt like he was unable to breathe properly when Minho moved even closer to him. He sensed the warmth emanating from the younger's body, making him shiver pleasantly. And then Minho was suddenly pulling up his face and Jonghyun was fighting hard with himself not to squeeze his eyes shut tightly. He was feeling increasingly embarrassed with this whole situation.

However he left his eyes open, glancing up at Minho unsurely. He swallowed thickly, as he locked gaze with Minho's eyes. Those eyes, they were giving him so much warm and comfort. Right now, those eyes were looking at him with such an intensity that it caused him to be self-conscious. Why was he being looked at in such a way?

And then Minho's words... Oh my god... He felt like hiding his face in his hands, or like curling up somewhere in a corner. Minho thought he looked tasty? He gazed down at the floor again, not able to hold eye contact with the younger boy. Well, obviously this was still part of the game, right?

Jonghyun didn't have a chance to say anything in reply as Minho suddenly moved away from him, walking over to the sink. Jong just stood there, staring at the floor. Somehow... he couldn't help but to feel disappointed. So, all of this had really been just a game for Minho? He wasn't so sure about himself... Because he actually had wanted the taller boy to stay so close to him for longer... maybe get even closer...

He sighed deeply, moving a hand through his hair, feeling frustrated.

Looking up again, he gave Minho a smile, that he hoped looked natural.

"It's okay... I really wanted to be of some help to you," he said, still leaning against the counter.

Well, so now they were back to the reality... Just friends, that's all they were. Jonghyun didn't know what to do. They have had breakfast now and the sleepover has ended. So, it was probably time for him to go home. But he really didn't want to.

"I...I should probably go home now, right? I mean, thanks for letting us sleep at your place... And thank you for making us breakfast," he bowed lightly, smiling.
amelushifah on September 23rd, 2013 12:04 pm (UTC)
Minho was surprised to see that Jonghyun seemed frustrated from the lack of closeness between them. Here Minho was thinking he was making the older boy incredibly uncomfortable, but he looked almost annoyed by the loss. Not to mention, the smile he just gave Minho was completely fake, it was painfully obvious.

At first, Minho smiled whenever Jonghyun said that all was okay and that he had wanted to help. But his smile dropped immediately as Jonghyun mentioned going home. Those were the only words that registered in Minho's head before he stepped forward again, grabbing Jonghyun by the shoulders.

"Don't go," he begged in an embarrassingly desperate voice. God, he was sort of pathetic. "I mean...do you really have to go home yet? When is your next shift? I don't wanna take you away from work if you have it, but....I really...I really like hanging out with you, hyung," he shrugged, smiling shyly as he rubbed the nape of his neck, cupping it with his palm. He was such a loser, acting like this. Jonghyun just...brought out his cheesy side. He kind of wanted to hug him and slow dance with him and bring him flowers and chocolates. Totally normal for a guy friend, right?

Minho was a little conflicted about letting Jonghyun stay for one reason, though: his parents. They were hard to understand and were so carefree that Minho was afraid they might not be able to hold their tongues around sensitive matters. What if they offended Jonghyun? Minho wouldn't have it.

Jonghyun looked up from the floor, as he suddenly felt Minho’s hands gripping his shoulders. He blinked surprised at the desperation in the younger boy’s voice. So, he really wanted him to stay longer? He felt happy and pleased - his presence was wanted here... This boy, it seemed, has grown just as attached to him, as was the other way around. Honestly, if it was Jonghyun’s choice, he wouldn’t want to ever part with the other, he had never felt as comfortable and safe before. He didn’t want to go back to his old life.

As Minho mentioned his work, Jong sensed a feeling of dread go through his body, making his heart freeze. He didn't want to go to work. Today his shift started at 5 at the cafe. It was a nice job, and they allowed him to take Songdam with him, so he didn't have to leave her at home alone with their mother.

"Really? I can stay? I mean, I would really like to... I just don't want to be a bother for you," he gazed up at Minho with a shy smile, his eyes sparkling," My job starts at 5 today, so until then we could have some fun at your place! What could we do?" He asked, feeling excited.

Jonghyun blinked up at Minho, shocked. W-what? He wanted to go with him? His heart hammered against his chest... On one hand, he did want the younger boy to go with him so badly. His company would surely make this horrid day much better. But then again... He would be bothering Minho and he obviously wasn't ready yet for him to know what exactly he was doing at the club. Because nope, being a bartender definitely wasn't his job. He was afraid he would loose the boy's friendship once he found out.

The fact that Minho felt uneasy about leaving Jong alone, was a really sweet gesture and it made a light blush form on his cheeks... But Jonghyun knew that he didn't need anyone's help, he could master all of this alone, just like he had done all his life.

He shook his head, smiling at the other boy. "It's okay... I really appreciate it, but you don't need to come with me. I'm able to handle it all by myself. I'm sorry... Am I being rude?" He gazed down at his lap, nervously fumbling with his fingers," It... It would be just boring for you... I'm sure you have more interesting things to do," he sighed, biting on the inside of his cheek.

"I think... I think I'll go now," he looked up again, his eyes a bit sad," It will take a while for me to get ready for work and everything... Thank you for the great time," he smiled, leaning closer to Minho and placing a shy kiss on his cheek.
